‘The Almighty himself will be your treasure. He will be your precious silver’ Job 22:25.
God said to Moses, ‘the promise that I have made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob your fathers the patriarchs. I am about to give you the land that is flowing with milk and honey, houses that you did not build, wells that you did not dig. But Moses, I am not going to go with you because the people are stubborn. But I will give you the land to fulfill My Word so that people will not call Me a lair’ [translated]. Do you know what a lot of people will say, ‘O! But you are sending an angel with us so that’s fine Lord, don’t worry we will see you in heaven when we come’. But Moses said to God, ‘if Your presence does not go with us don’t take us up hence’. For some people they compromise to join a particular group of people so that they can have opportunities for a particular period. You will ship wreck your faith. What Moses was saying to God is that He can take the land that is flowing with milk and honey; as long as He was with them, then they are fine. That is a very heavy statement. They waited for this promise for generations. Hundreds and hundreds of years they waited for this promise and God said it is time to enter this promise but I am not going with you. And Moses said you know what Lord, then count us out. I pray that God will create that heart in us in the mighty name of Jesus.
The third truth about money is: money is spiritual and not merely physical. The Bible puts it this way ‘money can develop wings and fly’. So look again at the money you have, even though you cannot see it, it has wings. Since it can fly, it means it can fly to me and it can fly away from some people. This is a very spiritual phenomenon. ‘No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money’ Matt.6:24. In fact, the number one contender with God for our hearts is money. God is a spirit, the Father of all spirits. The number one contender with God for the heart of man is not women or men; it is nothing else but money.
